Antonio Felix Da Costa
“I am really happy to continue with Team Aguri and Formula E for season two. The team are making big steps forward and I believe that we have the tools to fight hard and bring home some solid results.”
A drama filled race in Argentina gave Antonio Felix da Costa his one and only race win in Formula E after staying out of trouble and keeping out of the barriers, something many of his competitors failed to do in Buenos Aires. Despite having to miss the start of the inaugural season and London double-header due to clashing commitments with DTM, Da Costa earned 51 of the team’s total tally of 66 points, resulting in seventh place in the team standings.
Coming from a racing family, Da Costa started karting at the age of nine racing in a number of Portuguese championships against competition who were much older. In 2007, he progressed into single-seaters in Formula Renault 2.0. After gaining attention in both Formula 3 Euro Series and GP3, he joined the Red Bull programme.
He made his Formula 1 test debut for Force India in 2010 and has also driven all four Adrian Newey title-winning Red Bull Racing machines.
The works BMW driver scored a breakthrough victory in the prestigious DTM touring car series to bolster an already impressive CV that includes victory at the Macau Grand Prix.
After leaving the Red Bull programme at the end of last year, Costa is now focussing his commitments on Formula E and DTM.
